Comic actor Bernie Mac dies

Comic actor Bernie Mac died early Saturday of complications from pneumonia, according to a family member and his publicist. He was 50.
I didn’t know pneumonia was that deadly. Bernie was one of the better comedians of recent time. He wasn’t my favorite, but he was very good.
I’ll be praying for his family.

Brett Favre to the Jets.

GREEN BAY, WI - JANUARY 20: Quarterback Brett...Image by Getty Images via Daylife

Why are people blaming Favre? So what he wants to play still. He’s the best the Packers had, they should have been happy to have him back. The Packers are the only one to blame for all of this. They are the one’s causing the bad press. I feel awful for Brett, the packers and media are trying to make him look like the bad guy. I hope the Jets will the super bowl this year, unlikely though. But with Rogers at QB, the Lions have a better chance!!!!

Upgraded to Wordpress 2.6

I just upgraded to wordpress 2.6 using WordPress Automatic Upgrade

The process went nice and smooth with no issues. I had to update tantan’s google reports plugin with a file from the support forums, but other than that all plugins worked without an issue.

Transformers 2 Pictures Leaked

Here are some new Transformers 2 set pics that were making the rounds online. They include the ice-cream truck Transformer (I know!), the Audi R8, and the silver Corvette concept car. They’re from the docks at Long Beach but they most likely take part in China as part of the steel-mill sequence that was shot in Bethlehem recently

8 Great Villains We Want in the Next Batman Movie

With The Dark Knight set to break box-office records, a sequel is almost certainly in the works. With Heath Ledger and Aaron Eckhardt’s masterful performances as The Joker and Two-Face, respectively, finding another villain or two to ably face off against the caped crusader, while staying true to Christopher Nolan’s darker tone won’t be easy.

How the 7 Deadly Sins Could Lead the US into a Depression

There are some undeniable facts and historical trends that seriously indicate the economy is in much worse shape than most “experts” would have anyone believe. On top of that, throw in a dose of religious mythology and doom-saying, and we have the makings of how the seven deadly sins could lead the United States into a Depression, not Recession.

More Genealogy stuff

I’m doing a little more comparing of the different webby genealogy sites I was talking about here.

I’m surprised how many of these sites don’t have a to enter maiden names and married names. So far Genoom, MyFamily, and Kindo don’t seem to support this, but itsourtree and Geni do.

I think I’m going to go with Geni for now. Since it has full import/export of GEDCOM files. I can always take my data with me. Now if they only had a offline app that would sync with the online version so I could take it to my family reunions. Since most of them don’t have internet or computers. I know I could take notes and update later. But an offline app would be nice..hint..hint :-)

I added a bunch of family member profiles last night. I also started inviting more family to help update it. So far, only my father in-law has signed up.

Sweet gaming week

Last weekend I bought CrackDown for 20 bucks at gamestop. Its a older game but still lots of fun. I don’t think many people are still playing it online, but it beats paying 60 bucks for GTA.

The weekend I bought mario kart for the wii and an extra wheel. Melissa and I have been playing it as much as we can all weekend. Its a blast. I still haven’t figured out the friends part for mario cart. Nintendo really needs to get their act together for their online play. Compared to Xbox Live, it sux. I don’t care if its free it should be much easier that this. So if you have mario kart and want to play, leave your friends code. I mostly play in the evenings.
