Looking for a comparison of two local credit unions

This year I decided to look for a place to move my checking account to that would earn me little extra. Right now I use National City and love their online banking, but I don’t get any interest for my money.

I’ve been looking at Lake Michigan Credit Union’s MAX checking and NuUnion’s SoSmart Checking.

They both seem to have about the save rate, but what I really want to know is what their online banking is like and if it is supported by Mint.

I started using Mint again, I’ll have to write up a post about it soon.

later,jb

For a savings account I use and can recommend ING Direct. I get 4.1% interest right now on the savings account. I also have a Nat City checking and if you ask them you can get a small interest rate on a checking account if you keep a $1000 or more balance in the account. It is a fraction of 1% so you won’t get rich but better than nothing for a checking account and still have access to all the ATMs and Online Checking that Nat City offers.
