What a great fathers day
First off Happy Father’s day to all the fathers out there.
I had a great day today. Everyone slept in until 8:30 and we where still able to get up and make it to church on time! After lunch we head to the Grand Haven Pier for some Pronto Pup’s and ice cream. We hung out and watched the boats go by. I got a few good shots of Grace and Bradley well we where down town.

Then this afternoon I got a take a nice nap and have BBQ ribs for dinner. We took at nice relaxing walk to end the day.
Now I’m watching Ghostbusters on AMC.
I hope everyone else had as great as day as I did.

Texas trip

I spent the last few days in Texas for work. The Texas location is closing this year and they’ve started the process of moving people,equipment,product, etc out of the building. I headed down the gather freed computers and servers. Was well as offer some onsite support. The trip down was uneventful other than I can’t believe that the Dallas airport doesn’t have free wireless!!!
I also got a little turned around leaving the airport and it took a little longer to get to my hotel Sunday night.
Monday through today I was in the office. The people there are great and I had some really good food. I was able to free up 3 newer servers and get them heading north. As well as a handful of computers.
Driving back to the airport in Killeen today, I made a wrong turn and ended up at the gates of Fort Hood, Opps. It must happen a lot because they have a U-turn lane.
Anyway I’m at the Killeen airport waiting for the security gate to open. Yes, the Killeen airport has free wireless but not Dallas, WTF!
Tweaking comments

I got rid of http://www.intensedebate.com/ for my comments because they could never get the sync right and I constantly had thousands of comments waiting for moderation in my dashboard. But CommentLuv did work with ID so that was nice.
Now I’m back to the standard wordpress comments. I’d love to add the ability to link both google connect and facebook connect to my comments, but I haven’t found an easy way to link both yet that also allows CommentLuv to continue to work.
If anyone has any ideas please let me know.
I hope to add a few more tweaks to the site this week, things have been so busy since our second child last week. I haven’t been able to update or due much with the site.

Google’s PR is used by most people for advertising value, but Google has such strict rules. They use their PR number to control how you can link to other sites and how you link to advertisements, of course unless your using adsense 
I guess it depends on the purpose of the web site. I do try to make a little extra money with this site, but I also just like technology and the web. I like to express my opinions and what I find interesting. I know I have a very small following and I’m good with that. I don’t want to feel like I have to post every single day.
Looking at the numbers above I just find it funny the variation in the numbers. I’ve owned this site for about 10 years and it’s always been some form of CMS or Blog. But I’m sure the fact that my links have changed format over the years hasn’t helped people find old information.
What do you think about your Internet ‘rank’ Do you care? Like I said before some people have their entire site devoted to increasing their rank. Guess that’s one of the nice things about the web, to each their own.

Canon Camera CCD Image Sensor Issue

We bought a Canon S1 IS about 3 years ago. Its been a great camera. Around the beginning of October we noticed the LCD screen what all black and it wouldn’t take any photos. I started searching Google to see if anyone else had this problem and come to find out its a known issue. I contacted canon support and they had my send back my S1 IS. After about a week I got an email that they are fixing the camera and I should have it back in a week. Well about a week later a refurbished S3 IS shows up at my door. They don’t have the parts for my old S1 anymore so they sent me a S3. Sweet!!! Other than it uses SD instead of compact flash. This rocks. Canon has made me a very happy customer!!!
